Ícaro Maia Santos de Castro

PhD Student

Loves music, adventure sports and is fascinated about microbes. His journey is about mixing arts and science to describe the world around us. PhD student at the Bioinformatics Graduate Program of the University of São Paulo (USP). He has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Informatics from Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). He is currently working with host-microbe interactions using a Systems Biology approach to understand how the interaction of the microbiome and the host's immune system can be associated with the clinical outcome of patients affected by infectious diseases.
