Biomedical engineer, always curious about the inner workings of things and eager learner. Rodrigo likes to read fiction books and chat with friends in his spare time. He is a master's student at the University of São Paulo in the field of bioinformatics since 2019. Currently, he works with metatranscriptomics and microbiome analysis, but likes to venture into other areas as well and wants to learn more about epigenetics. As an undergraduate at the Federal University of Pernambuco, he learned about electronics and medical equipment, but specialized in the computational area of Electrical Impedance Tomography, with a focus on image reconstruction through search methods and machine learning. Thus, he developed a taste for working with data, programming, statistics and calculus. This led him to his current project, in which he is developing, in association with the CSBL, a computational tool to analyze RNA-seq data and integrate it with microbiome data.
