Open-knowledge enthusiast, wikimedian, biologist by heart, bioinformatician by training, programmer by luck. Tiago came from a biomedical sciences major and did his master's here at the CSBL. After developing methods to analyze single-cell RNA-seq data, Tiago has dived in the world of ontologies and knowledge graph for his PhD. His PhD project is to explore Wikidata as a tool for biological knowledge graphs, with a focus on representing cell types and, more generally, on the Human Cell Atlas project. Tiago feels funny when writing about himself in 3rd person.
